Who we are

We are 'Christ together with his people' glorifying and enjoying God following Christ everyday.

Often in our daily struggles, we lose sight of the big picture. Our busy tasks and responsibilities take us away from the very purpose for which we are created.

Worship: When people come together to celebrate and enjoy God, wonderful things happen. Life's purpose gets more focussed. Forgiving and loving others become possible.

Service and Sharing: Joy and peace mend broken and hurt hearts. Souls and spirits are restored.

Thanksgiving: Minds and hearts open to God's way. At Drummond Hill Church Christ's love becomes real each day.

Fellowship: Since 1802 we have been here on the hill for children, youth, families and travellers witnessing the living Christ, sharing his love. We are continuing to demonstrate our purpose to reach out in God's love, guided by our faith in Christ, through prayer. Christ's love and presence is here to be experienced each day.

Each gathering is a new blessing from Christ as he invite everyone to new adventure in spirit and truth. Whether you have been here all of your life or you are exploring to see if you can call this community your own, or if this gathering of people is a stop-over in your travels, you will find welcome and Christ's hospitality to experience Christ and share his love. This is a place prepared by Christ for you.

Our identity is based on the rich faith of confessions and traditions. As the people of "the Book", namely the Old and New Testaments, we have inherited a particular confessional tradition grounded on;

Apostles' Creed
Nicene Creed
Scots Confession
Belgic Confession
Heidelberg Catechism
First Hevetic Confession
Second Helvetic Confession
Westminster Confession
Westminster Catechism .

We subscribe to the Theological Declaration of Barmen, Declaration of Faith concerning Church and Nation, Living Faith.

We are a member of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. We participate in national and international mission activities through Presbyterians Sharing.

As a member of the World Communion of Reformed Churches, we belong to this worldwide family of Reformed and Presbyterian people. People of all walks of life belong to our family. Our theological views are as widely varied, yet grounded in a particular viewpoint as Christians who descended from Zwingli, Calvin and the like.

As Presbyterians we strongly believe in the priesthood of all believers (very democratic), yet hold onto the tradition of the ruling and teaching eldership. Each local congregation belongs to a regional body known as a Presbytery. Presbyteries make up Synods. Synods form General Assembly. Unlike Presbyteries, Synods and General Assembly meets once a year and are formed by the commissioners sent by the Presbyteries. As such Synods and General Assemblies are not a permanent governing bodies. They function more like commissioned courts that deliberate on many theologically and polity wise important matters.

We are joyful in our worship, compassionate in our caring, loving in relationship with others, hopeful in all matters, and faithful in service.
