Renewal
In order to embark on a fresh new way, Drummond Hill is taking a bit of break. We will continue our regular worship service at 10:30 am on Sundays through July and August.
Early Sunday Service being held at 9:00 am and Monday Evening Service will stop from now until September 12th. That is, Sunday 9:00 am service and Monday Evening Service will resume on September 18th and 19th respectively.
Monthly Dinner/Cooking Club will not meet in July by will meet again on Monday, August 8th at 5:30 pm.
It is our prayer that this summer break will refresh and renew us in order to staring the ministry of Christ anew in September.
Easter Sunday
Our 9:00 am service of worship with breakfast has become an exciting worship experience. Many came and enjoyed this very different service of worship. Children from both Drummond Hill and Lundy's Lane came to sing together.
At 10:30 am, we held our traditional Easter Worship with full choir and many hymns. It was designed more less like a cantata by the choir director. The effort of choir was much appreciated. Everyone who attended the service gave glory to God and enjoyed God's presence immensely.
Both services were uplifting and deeply meaningful to those who attended.
Easter Memorial Mission Fund
This year we have put a twist to our traditional Easter Memorial Flower Fund. The sanctuary was decorated with flower arrangements which were donated by a member family. All those monies collected for the fund, which was used to buy flowers in past Easters, is being designated as a mission fund. We have collected over $500. We are thankful to all those who have come along to become more active in supporting Christ's mission.
Lent Lunches
2011 Lent Lunches have been completed on the Holy Week. We have raised over $600 for Salvation Army.
Mission and Benevolent Fund
The session has chosen to support four groups this year. Community Outreach of Niagara Falls, Camp Kintail, Evangel Hall, and Brock Chaplaincy will be the groups.
This year we are also holding back $1,500 in order to participate in sponsoring a refugee family from the Republic of Congo through the Presbytery of Niagara. Mr. Steve and his family has a harrowing experience of surviving through the difficulties they faced. We are more than happy to be part of this project.
Presbyterians Sharing
Last cheque was sent in before the end of 2010 to support national and international work. Total of $15,000 from our congregation was added to the national budget which was slightly over 8 million dollars.
